London is a world cultural capital and the world’s most visited city as measured by international arrivals. Parks are a great way to escape from the busy city without travelling too far. There are tons around to enjoy, but read on to find out the top three parks to visit!

St. James’s Park (Westminister, London)

St. James’s Park is a massive 57 acre park in the City of Westminister and the oldest of the capital’s eight Royal Parks. It is the perfect way to unwind after walking through and admiring the famous Buckingham Palace, which is just a few steps away. It offers a beautiful pond in the middle of the park with hundreds of different species of birds. Great place to enjoy the great views and people watch!

Lincoln's Inn Fields (London WC2A 3TL, UK)

This park is the largest public square in London. It is an exemplary place to meet up with friends, relax for a day with a book, or take a nap(like I did). It is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings and there is not much car traffic around it which makes it a very nice, quiet getaway.

Duncan Terrace Gardens, Islington

Finally, this article ends with a peaceful place to take a walk through. Nor far from Upper Street in Islington is Duncan Terrace Garden which follows the route of the historic New River, a waterway built in the 1600's to supply clean water to London. It's known for a jumbled collection of bird boxes called "The Spontaneous City in the Tree of Heaven". With gorgeous flowers, especially in the spring time, it's a must-see when in London!
