Whether you’re balling on a budget or you’re just not into taking someone to a boujee restaurant, here are 3 of my top favorite chill date spots in San Francisco! Aside from the obvious Golden Gate Park, here are 3 of my top favorite places to just sit and chill in San Francisco with your special someone. In some of these clips you’ll see my boyfriend who was visiting me from out of town. He loved every spot I took him to and with that being said I know you guys will love them, too!
Kirby Cove (948 Fort Barry, Sausalito, CA)
Wow, I don’t have enough good things to say about this place. It’s so underrated because no one really thinks to go here, but trust me this place is amazing. If you want a relatively secluded beach with an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge a hike down to Kirby Cove is a MUST. Located in the Marin Headlands (just off the bridge from San Francisco), you park where you’d normally park to view the Golden Gate Bridge from a bird’s eye perspective. There’s a path that cuts down the side of the mountain, and if you continue to walk down you’ll soon come across a small camping side and behind it, there are small steps leading you down towards Kirby Cove!
Dolores Park (Dolores St and 19th St, San Francisco, CA)
This place is the ultimate chill spot for those who enjoy people watching. This is the meet up spot for many young people and it’s never a dull place to be. There’s a playground as well as many places for shade and relaxation. Known to be a hot hippie spot, you’ll notice a rather distinct aroma wafting around the park so for those who aren’t super 420 friendly, this might not be the place for you! I highly recommend going during the day to have a chill picnic, and don’t forget to stop by Bi-rite for some awesome ice cream (located only minutes away from Dolores Park)!
Ghirardelli Square/SF Maritime National Historical Park (900 North Point St, San Francisco, CA )
Located near the Fisherman’s Wharf, this place is a great location to walk around, look at the ships, and get something sweet! During the day, it can get pretty touristy, so if you’re going as a date definitely wait till later. Ghirardelli Square doesn’t close until 11pm so I personally like going at around 8 pm to watch the sun set on the water and later head up to Ghirardelli Square for a quick game of corn hole and a banana split! If you have a special someone this is a great place to take your date, too!
